Matthieu Gaudeau

Actor-Dancer - Technique Alexander teacher.

He has worked as a performer with live performance companies and collectives since the late 1990s. From 2004 to 2006, he co-directed the "La Gouttière" collective, where he developed a practice of performative dance-theater.

In 2009, he began training as an Alexander Technique teacher and developed a passion for teaching, human movement, embodied cognition approaches (particularly enactivism), and attentional dynamics. He participated in the ICI and ICrEA projects (dance and neuroscience initiatives led by the CNRS). These action-research projects—developed within a community of practice comprising neuroscientists, psychologists, anthropologists, philosophers, educators, and improvisational artists—used improvisation as an epistemological framework (as a research tool rather than an object of study). The aim was to create an ecological observatory of interactional dynamics, exploring how affordances (J.J. Gibson), attention, and affects intertwine; as a founding member, he played a central role in developing experimental protocols regarding attention and joint attention.

Between 2014 and 2018, he organized a series of workshops on the concept of landscape alongside Asaf Bachrach and Emma Bigé. These workshops combined philosophical approaches with attentional mapping, drawing on the work of F. Deligny and micro-phenomenological interviewing techniques.

He was a co-organizer of the International Contact Improvisation Gathering in Paris and regularly teaches Contact Improvisation in France and abroad.

Matthieu is a certified Alexander Technique teacher (ATI). His approach is informed by the work of Hubert Godard and David Gorman. He is deeply interested in the organization of human movement and the relationships between posture, attention, and perception. He has worked with individuals suffering from Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases. Her approach lies at the intersection of Contact Improvisation, martial arts in their internal dimension, and the Alexander Technique.

Elf dancer, creator, player, optimist, dancer, builder, enthusiastic, curious, dancer, walker, independent, big and small, dancer, blue, red and green, botanist, calm and dynamic, dancing black sheep, polifasetik and….

Having left school before being trained or deformed, and marginal since adolescence, I am mainly self-taught.

A lifelong fan of alternative and “green” living, both inside and outside.

In dance since 1990, (facilitator) when I discovered the dancer in me, mainly in traditional and Folk dance, then also BioDanse, 5 Rhythms, Authentic, Spontaneous or the 1001 appearances on my path.

And passionate about CI since 2015…

CI is a philosophy of life. Movement is an attribute of life, and it creates emotion.

For over 50 years, Contact Improvisation has been evolving through an increasingly internalized and subtle movement. That is the path I am following.

To enrich this encounter, I invite you to explore and revisit the principles of Contact Improvisation in a creative and playful way, regardless of your level of experience.

Lionel Banevitch

Musician, composer, improviser and dancer, Lionel plays the electric bass and the baglama saz.
It was through his encounter with CI and somatic practices in 2014 that the link between music and the body became clear to him. Since then, he has been passionate about the parallel between dance and musical gestures, and, armed with loopers and unusual sound objects, interacts with improvisational dancers, sets danced theatrical creations to music, and leads folk dances with his solo "Loop Trad & Emmaüs" and his duo "Karpostal".

Corentin Coko

(accordion and lots of other little things)

Corentin Coko is a singer-songwriter, with several records and shows to his credit. Collaborated with Ogres de Barback, Michèle Bernard, François Morel, La Mal Coiffée, Manu Théron, HK, Mouss & Hakim, Laurent Cavalié, etc. He likes to play for dancers, in contact improv, but also in folk dances, with his trio Les Dormeurs du Bal (active since 2006). He is one of the founders of the Danseruna festival, which mixes folk, contact improvisation, and tango.
